nyek.  the boys of the house don’t like the name sansha.  lucas started calling him sunshine.  dad naman says para daw "sansha?"  "ayun o."  and started calling him constantine.  actually he does look like a constantine, with his kulot hair falling over his eyes.  so my sister and i conceded.  and constantine it is.  "there was a time when i was so broken hearted love wasn’t much of a friend of mine…"

baka naman bukas iba nanaman mamatay na doggie ko huhuhu no!

"…i know all i need to know by the way that i got kissed i was crying when i met you now i’m trying to forget you…"

shiatsu

from previous entry dated 2005.09.11

daniella: my birthday’s in october.  you know what i want for my birthday?  a shiatsu.

melanie: you want a massage?

daniella: no!  a shiatsu!  you know, the fluffy dog?

rene (who is now my favorite favorite tito in the world) gave us a shih-tzu!  it’s the second cutest dog i’ve ever had -that’s second after berta of course, may she rest in peace.  we promised erin that we were gonna keep the name that she gave but once we boarded the puppy into the car to take home and officially got custody of it, we did not hesitate to change ‘winsky’ to ’sansha’.

other names we thought of giving our new cutie-pie puppy:

cornflakes -joelle saw a movie or something once with a guy teaching his dog to say "cornflakes"

bennet -because of that email with the dog going outside the house to smoke.  "bennet! dinner!"

adeena -michael rosenbaum’s girl name in sorority boys

constantine or bo -but i’m bo already and we can’t have two bo’s in the house, at least that’s what joelle says

****n or yul -my dad is so mean

gaynor or capezio -but then again these are american and italian brands

and sansha’s just perfect ’cause it’s chinese.  it’s a good thing i was just sewing the garters onto my new sansha ballet shoes earlier or else i never would’ve thought of it.

kahit si bo ang mahal ko

Constantine1 the highlight of the week, or rather one of the highlights of my life!  was catching constantine maroulis perform LIVE today at ATC.  intense.  i loved that he sang two of my ultra favorite songs -i can’t make you love me and you make me so very happy.

ya coz you see i requested for those songs.  constantine and i were talking on the phone yesterday and he asked me what i wanted him to sing so there…

you think you know your parents, but you don’t know really know them -as in know them- until you’ve met their old friends.

i’ve always known my parents were weird este not so normal and far from average people.  i mean who goes to their kids’ school in the middle of the day to pull them out of class for an impromptu family day out?  you gather that they used to be this and that, they let you in on their past a bit with sermons that would include how their lifestyles had to change significantly when they had to raise you in a better and safer environment, they would remind you that they were also kids once…  but this idea you have of what your parents were really like become more actual and concrete when you spend a few minutes listening to them talk to their old friends catching up on old times.

we bumped into sampaguita the other day.  ya sampaguita as in panahon na para magsaya rocker sampaguita.  my parents knew her from back when my mom used to model and my dad used to direct fashion shows and other stuff.  would you believe sampaguita was my mom’s maid of honor?  my god she’s crazy.  but interesting crazy.  that was already the second time i met her and i was floored yet again!  she was bugging my parents for them to have a get-together and to work on some project with her.  she said "habang matino pa" and then corrected herself and said "ngayong matino na".  apart from all the wild stuff she was into, she also claims to have had ADD -attention deficit disorder.  she’d be into painting one day and then pottery the next, and then it was singing and modelling and back and forth and back and forth.  was this the kind of people my mom and dad used to hang out with?  they were part of that circle?

astig.

such colorful lives.  i wonder if i’d ever seem that cool to my kids.

———-

i’m not sure if dapat ba ako matuwa.  when i was being introduced to sampaguita she goes

"so this is your youngest daughter?  ano model din?"

ooh model. asenso.  graduate na from nina and swimmer.  of course i politely shake my head, hiding my glee.  but the next question just ruined it all for me

"ano gym instructor?"

damn sabi ko na nga ba ang macho ko talaga tingnan.

“huwag ka nalang pumasok.” -dad

the weather now is really bad.  it’s either drizzling or super hot in the daytime and gotta-wear-a-sweater chilly at night.  i think i’m about to catch a cold.  you know how your throat hurts right before you get sick?  woke up yesterday morning with that feeling.  it’s a bit scary though this time coz it wasn’t just my throat that hurt but my neck, from the base of my chin, and all the way down to my chest.  asked my mom if it could be something more serious than phlegm.  she just gave me medicine.  i don’t normally take medicine but i did.  that’s how worried i was.

dad says kaya daw masakit chest ko kasi nag-g-grow daw yung heart ko.  with matching "di ko kayang tanggapin" arms crossed above his head.  kainis.

thursday530am: woke up
800: gave a quiz, a lecture, and almost got mad at my students.  instead i announced that i will stop checking attendance and stop giving quizzes so those who are not ready to attend class or just don’t want to be in class don’t have to go.  paused a few minutes to give them a chance to leave.  of course nobody did.  and then i smiled as if nothing happened and continued discussing
1000: got some breakfast.  wasn’t really hungry but someone told me once that sumo wrestlers don’t eat breakfast to slow down their metabolism.  so i’ve taught myself to love breakfast since.  i bought my favorite cheese donut and had that with chipeapster vendo coffee.  yumyumyum delicioso.  also started checking papers
1230pm: went to harrison plaza -after one hundred years.  i swear i don’t remember the last time i was there.  so that’s why i went with ed gan who had to buy guitar strings.  and i needed a break anyway.  i don’t know how people with 9to5 desk jobs do it
130: went back to work
230: went through ed’s new songhits.  ang galing din talaga ng songhits.  bands featured on rt sunday sessions always tell callers that the best way to start learning to play the guitar is through songhits.  also found out from one of the articles that ian veneracion directed the maling akala video of brownman revival.  iba.  directs, flies aeroplanes, does a lot of cool extreme stuff, used to be a child star and is still an actor, and is pogi as ever…
300: had consultation with thesis mentees
500: left lasalle to go to makati.  astig marunong pa ako mag-lrt-mrt
600: looked at cds at music one to kill time.  got so close to buying the nerd album with she wants to move.  but being the kuripot person that i am i put it back on the shelf and left the store
700: ***some text missing***

1100: went to saguijo to watch mikah’s gig.  thursday nights is jazz nights.  couldn’t really concentrate and absorb the music coz i was busy mentally hitting my head with both my fists and going "boom-ba-boom-ba-boom".  he’s definitely not gonna want to see me anymore ever again.

friday130am: ay nako ha ang feeling ng vocalist ng up dharma down.  magaling sana, nakakairita langAffinity_1
200: got blown away by koko bernejo’s drumming (drum playing?).  those kids who left right after up dharma down missed out big time.   you shoulda seen me i looked like i was watching the discovery channel or something, full attention and on the edge of my seat.  i probably looked like those kids we saw at the mall staring intently at the water fountain.  and when the set was over i couldn’t stop applauding.  there are no words

230: slept in the car going home
300: got home.  asked joelle to show mikah my everfamous wallpaper.  pathetic, in my mom’s opinion.  move on jacqui, move on! she says.  what the… move on to where?  from what?  said goodnight to joelle and mikah and retired
